GAB - 2014-2015
Although formed in 1989 through a merger between Guinness Malaysia Berhad and Malayan Breweries, GAB (Guinness Anchor Berhad) has a long and proud history dating back to the early 1930’s – brewing and distributing some of the world’s favourite beverages for Malaysia. MAYHEM had the privilege of redesigning and revamping the website for this national institution. Primarily targeted towards investors and stakeholders, we had to ensure that the website was intuitive, yet balanced to also appeal to the general public and younger generations. Basically, corporate and financial news does not have to be boring 🙂
Most of the brands under the GAB umbrella have their own websites, but it was still a good idea to showcase them within the main corporate site. We included some fun features to educate viewers about the brands; Beer infused recipes, food pairing with beer (where traditionally it is usually done with wines) and of course, keeping up with what’s trending in the world of social media. This gave www.GAB.com.my a fresh twist on the many possibilities of its brands that most people may never have considered before.
We decided to move away from the typical online method of presenting a company’s corporate structure where the people are always shown as separate individuals. Instead, we wanted to showcase the unity and teamwork of the top level management by insisting that all the key figures got together from their busy schedules to be photographed together. After all, unity is what has made GAB an unrivaled success over the decades.
