KRISPY KREME - 2014-2015

It’s truly an honor to be given the opportunity to learn so much about Krispy Kreme’s rich history. We had the liberty of ensuring that the legacy of Vernon Rudolph (King of Krispy Kreme) is in safe hands in Malaysia. Originally a wholesaler, demand for his delicious doughnuts grew, Vernon saw the opportunity to create a retail business by cutting a hole in the building wall and selling direct to customers. This ingenius idea saw his fame spread and with that, the number of outlets grew so fast that he had to develop the Krispy Kreme automatic doughnut cutter machine; Delivering the perfect doughnut, day in day out.

Finally making its debut here in Malaysia in 2009, MAYHEM was given the opportunity to help them with branding and advertising at their stores and online. Below are some of our favourite campaigns throughout 2014 and 2015.

Krispy Kreme’s International #OfficeHero campaign in 1Q/2015 was initiated to promote having doughnuts as a mid-day snack in the office and is our favourite campaign to date. #OfficeHero is perfect for Malaysia since meetings are often ‘complimented’ with lots of local delicacies (curry puffs, cucur udang, and kuihs). We had the creative freedom to develop new key art for the Malaysian market and came up with an employee empowerment campaign, giving them the chance to win over their bosses or clients’ stomachs with power-up-doughnut-breaks during meetings.
